Dr Frank Po-Yen Lin

Research Fellow

Dr Frank Lin joined CTC as a Research Fellow with the Molecular Screening and Therapeutics (MoST) program in 2020. Frank is a medical oncologist trained in both New Zealand and Sydney (FRACP 2019). He holds joint research appointments at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research and with the Cancer Clinical Academic Group, Maridulu Budyari Gumal (SPHERE), UNSW Sydney.

Frank’s main research interest is in precision cancer medicine, focusing on developing biomarker-driven clinical trials and studying methods for empowering genomic decision-making strategies. Frank obtained his PhD in medical informatics from UNSW (2009) and is continuing to contribute expertise in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and natural language processing, with respect to applications in cancer care. He leads the development of the TOPOGRAPH knowledge base and several tools for electronic medical record analytics. He is a fellow of the Australasian Institute of Digital Health. He is co-chief and associate investigator on several grants.
