The oncology program at the CTC coordinates clinical trials of treatments for a range of cancers. These phase II and phase III studies are often multidisciplinary, incorporating surgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology and novel treatments such as biological agents.

Support for cancer trials
The Clinical Trials Partnership of the CTC and the Cancer Institute NSW offers statistical and operational support for cancer trials. More...

The CTC is the coordinating centre for several cancer cooperative research groups, for example, ANZ BCTG, AGITG, ANZGOG, ANZGCTG, ALTG, COGNO, APUG.

The CTC may be responsible for randomisation, data management, statistical analyses, and the coordination of related substudies (for example, on quality of life, cost-effectiveness and analysis of biomarkers from tumour tissue).
