Integrating Evidence

The CTC not only designs and conducts high-quality clinical trials, but we also undertake work on how best to integrate trial and other evidence into effective policy and practice.

Our Systematic Reviews and Health Technology Assessment team lead several internationally recognised evidence-integration programs including:

• Systematic reviews with the Cochrane Collaboration and with other collaborators (using aggregate data, individual patient data and prospective meta-analyses)  
• Health technology assessments
• Systematic review methodology work
• Test evaluation methodology work
• Prospective trial registration.

Through these programs we are working to investigate important clinical questions and to evaluate new medical technologies in a manner that ensures that the best unbiased evidence is used for decision making.

We also work closely with the CTC Health Economics team to improve evidence integration into policy and practice.
