Congratulations John! 2016 NSW Premier's Award for Outstanding Cancer Researcher of the Year

On Friday 5th August 2016, CTC's founding director Professor John Simes was awarded the 2016 NSW Premier's Award for Outstanding Cancer Researcher of the Year.

Prof Simes is a medical oncologist in neuro-oncology, clinical epidemiologist and biostatistician, is nationally and internationally recognised as a leader in clinical trials and translational research. As the Director of the CTC he leads an extensive research program aimed at improving health practice and health outcomes through better use of clinical trials research. In the Sydney Catalyst Translational Cancer Research Centre he is a leader who brings together cross-disciplinary teams whose aims are to improve the outcomes of those affected by cancer or at risk of developing it, through discovery, new knowledge and the development and implementation of more effective cancer treatments, supportive care and preventive strategies. Professor Simes is an outstanding and committed clinician and researcher, leading clinical trials and translational research in Australia and, through collaboration, across the world.
