Conducting a review

REVIEWER TRAINING

There are a number of resources available to those contemplating or undertaking a systematic review in breast cancer. Because authors come from many countries around the world, a number of Cochrane Centres have been developed to coordinate training for specific (language defined) regions.

Because of this effort Cochrane specific workshops which provide introductory training through to analysis and review completion programs are routinely available. In Australia, the Australasian Cochrane Centre coordinates the training of new authors, incorporating the input of the Collaborative Review Groups (CRGs) in the region.

For those people who would like to undertake training but cannot travel to attend a workshop, there are also a number of on-line training materials available. These range from open-learning and include The Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews of Interventions and The Cochrane Manual.

The CBCG also produce an information and resource package for authors and are happy to provide information and advice to authors throughout the review process.
