Dr Sonia Yip is the Translational Research Fellow and Oncology
Translational Research Manager at the NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre.
She works closely with five oncology collaborative groups in
Australia, providing scientific expertise in developing
translational and biological studies for their clinical trials.
Sonia has a PhD in molecular biology from the Garvan Institute
(UNSW) in signal transduction pathways in breast cancer and chronic
myeloid leukaemia. She has international experience in oncology
clinical research within the NHS in London and as the Research
Manager of the newly formed SE London Cancer Research Network in
the UK. On returning to Australia, Sonia worked at the NHMRC
Clinical Trials Centre in Oncology. Most recently she worked for a
pharmaceutical company in clinical trials research and also set up
and managed a preclinical and translational research group in
oncology with collaborations with over 65 clinicians and 60 basic
scientists from more than 40 institutions in Australasia. |
