PERINATAL TRIALS REPORT

PT0514

A randomised controlled trial of the effect of physiotherapy intervention on pelvic floor dysfunction in postpartum women

Plain Language Summary:    Some women experience bladder and /or bowel problems following childbirth. The aim of this was to determine whether physiotherpay intervention during the first year after childbirth reduces the severity of these problems and improves quality of life for women at risk of developing these problems.

By comparing pelvic floor muscle strength and the prevalence of bladder and/or bowel symptoms in women who receive physiotherapy follow-up and treatment, it will be possible to determine the effectiveness of physiotherapy follow-up and treatment.
