A midwifery study of perineal repairs comparing Dexon II and chronic catgut

 

Plain Language Summary:      To effect change and allow midwives to perform perineal repairs using the most appropriate suture material we undertook a clinical trial of suture materials. We compared repair with Dexon II versus chronic catgut undertaken by midwives accredited in perineal repairs. the main outcomes are perineal pain and dysparesmia.

Compare Dexon II with chronic catgut for perineal repair.
